Summary: Why did Fornell marry Di in spite of Gibbs's Warnings?

Author's Notes: Having read all the Gibbs/Fornell fic out there, I decided to write my own. This is my very first attempt at a Gibbs/Fornell pairing (even though Gibbs doesn't actually appear). My first attempt at this and unbetaed, so let me know if I've done anything massively wrong (I am currently trying to find a Gibbs/Fornell Icon I like, so please bear with me.).

The pictures weren’t pornographic. Tobias saw enough of that stuff daily to tell the difference.

It didn’t mean they were any less shocking, or disturbing.

He and Gibbs had been alone in that basement and he was dammed sure that neither of them had a camera. So how the heck had Di got hold of these?

“There a point to this, Di?” He asked, trying to keep his voice casual, as he slid the photos back across to her. The red head’s eyes flashed at him.

“I’m sure your director would be very interested in them.”

Tobias snorted. “You’re about 20 years too late for that, Di. Bureau’s got rules about discriminating about that kinda shit now.”

“Does NCIS?”

He froze at those words. He knew the Navy’s policy regarding homosexuality. Don’t ask, Don’t tell, and he was fairly certain that Di’s pictures would count as tell, but he didn’t know about NCIS.

“They don’t even have fire him. We both know the ways they could make his life miserable.”

An image rose in his mind of Gibbs, confined to a desk, a mockery of the proud man he was.

He glared at Diane. “You’re a real bitch.”

“You’ve met my ex.” She smiled, gathering up the photos and cocking him under the chin. “Don’t look so unhappy, Toby. We’re getting married in a couple of hours.”

Tobias kept glaring at her. “You really hate him that much?”

Diane shrugged. “Love, hate, don’t they always say they’re just different sides of the same coin?” She smiled. He wondered how he could have ever thought she was beautiful.

She knew he’d stay away from Gibbs, try to cut him out of his life to protect him. And he knew how much that would hurt Gibbs. But it was the only way.

Silently he got to his feet. He was getting married in less than three hours, and he still had to get ready.

“Don’t think of calling him.” Diane said, carefully stepping out the door. “He’s not invited.”
